After Bodhi was sickoff and on this summer, after Tom was doing very poorly, after me coping with school, I finally got Bodhi out to his second show. I kind of had to because he will age out of "Kitten" next Saturday and, silly me, figured that the kitten classes would be easier than championship.

So, we went to Hemet, CA on Saturday. There were 73 kittens!!! Including 2 others in his tabby persian division. And those other 2 were spectacular!

Needless to say, Bodhi didn't win anything, in part because I need to do better at the grooming/coat building, and because he was scared at first. But by the time the show ended, he was doing VERY well.

Thanks!

See his competition, I know why he didn't get any ribbons. He really needs a lot more coat. So, he's on a the bath every 5 day plan until we get lots of coat!

And yes, I had fun. I met a lot of nice people, saw some stunning cats, and got free ice cream. What more could I want?! Well, ribbons, but I won't whine too much.

If it is any help, I have heard that is a tough show, sort of like the Garden State show here in the east. I imagine you were up against campaigners - that is always hard. I hope you can get him used to the noise and hustle and bustle of the shows. I have had some who never got used to it (Poppy for one) and some it didn't phase (Jack). Taking him around to different places will help. I also would set up a judging table of sorts and do what the judges do to get him used to that while having a noisy background - it will help him relax. Here we even practice going into and out of the cage in the ring. Most of all make it fun for him.

He's very sweet Linda, I'm sorry he didn't win any
ribbons this time, as Lynda said, it's a tough
show, I'm sure he'll do better next time. I'll
bet Tom is convinced he's a Top Cat though. :D

Bodhi looks AWESOME! And it really doesn't matter he didn't win anything.

Wow 73 kittens in one show. We are sometimes lucky if we get 73 cats in one show here!

Yes, Alon, 73 kittens!!! I about fainted when I saw this.

I thought Bodhi looked good right up to the point I saw his direct Tabby competition. And then, well, I think of myself as providing more points for the other two tabby kittens. The difference was that big! You can get some idea of the 2nd place tabby -- it is the one to the left in the judging cage photo. That was a 5 month old kitten.

But I will do better at preparing for the next show... course then he will be an adult.
