I don't know anything about breeding however am just wondering if your male cat is anatomically correct in all aspects of his male anatomy or sterile maybe? Have you taken him to the Vet to be checked in terms of his male anatomy? Maybe a thought if none of the other females turn up pregnant. Unless there's no penetration at all it would seem that even with poor mating if all else is "ok" he should be able to impregnate.

Breeders here can likely tell you what you want to know~ I'm just thinking about basic anatomy and reproduction.

Good luck.

OHhhhhh Goodness. First of all - have you bred before? Second of all - Are your cats tested for PKD? You really shouldn't be breeding if you don't know the answers to these questions you are asking. I'm a bit concerned.

Kira, I concur. Breeding animals of any kind should only be done by professionals. And then only if you are prepared to care for these babies for the rest of their lives if should you not be able to find suitable homes for them.

Please do not take this the wrong way but you may want to consider getting the males and females fixed.

I say all of this in LOVE!!!!!!

Ok guys this will be in Portuguese as our friend is from there and maybe I can get some of our concerns across better in a language that comes from my heart. (translation available at request :)

Leia or articulo muito bom "Before you breed" nesta pagina https://persian-cats.com/articles/br ... oreb.shtml

Birgit

There could be many reasons why your girls are not getting pregnant, including that they may have a uterine infection. If you have witnessed the breedings then I would suggest you take your girls in and have them cultured. They could require antibiotics to have a successful pregnancy. This might not be an issue with your boy.

Easy guys :) ...there is a language barrier here and the questions she is asking are completely normal of a new breeder. Heck when I started breeding, Kim (Campbellkatz) had to walk me through what to expect when a girl is bred. And yes...scream and roll is very common of a successful breeding so I can totally see the confusion here.

Most males are breeding by 15 to 18 months...some take as much as 3 years (like my Baggy). If the girls are screaming and then rolling it is HIGHLY likely he is getting the deed done...thing is, are you separating him from the girls after 2-3 witnessed breedings? Then waiting the typical 21 days to watch for the girl to pink up? You cannot let the boy with the girl after the girl is out of heat because if she is bred again while you are waiting to see if the breeding took then you could loose the litter. If you are following all of these then I suspect your male might be sterile. Waiting longer isn't going to help your immediate situation. Your girls need bred. Do you have a friend that could help you get your girls bred while you investigate the furtility of the male? If you don't then you may need to consider spay/neuter for the health and safety of your girls.
