She is sick...green goop coming out of one eye and all congested....we are going tot he vet in the morning. We sat in the bathroom for about 35 minutes with the hot water running....seemed to help a little. I just feel so sorry for her. She was not sick when I brought her home 2 weeks ago...why is she sick now?

Glad you are headed to the vet tomorrow. Hopefully you can get some meds in her that will cure her.

I'm sorry Annabella is sick. Poor girl.... :(

Now, repeat after me: no steriods in the eye drops! No NeoPolyDex!!! Just say no to 'roids!

I'm a bit paranoid about herpes, but you did mention green gunk, and I recently talked to Kira and she reminded me of Puffy's eye drama all because of the steroids in the eye drops. So, there's plenty of good antibiotics out there without steriods!

As for why now. 2 weeks is a nice incubation timeframe. I'm guessing someone else is a carrier for some virus which Annabella hadn't been exposed to before, so now she's exposed and sick. And just so you don't get too surprised, another kitty or two might get sick now too. I know everytime I bring in a new cat, a kitty cold gets passed around (and sometimes around a second time).

Good luck and give her a gentle hug for me.

She is now sleeping comfortably spooning with hubby.......I just feel so bad for her....I should have taken her to the vet when she sneezed the first time which was about 3 days ago. I will keep on the lookout for the others to get sick.....just like having babies in the house again. LOL

Krys, honestly, most sneezes and sniffles disappear after several days and are caused by a virus, so there's little need to run them to a vet. Don't blame yourself!

Thanks Linda......I get a little paranoid.....one of my twins had febral seizures when she was little and now her son and her twin sisters son has them also.....I just hate it when one of my human babies or fur babies get sick.

Yes. Please feel free to call me with any questions regarding eyeball questions. PM me for my number. I'm sure some systemic antibiotics will be fine if it's an infection. NeoPolyDex scares the bejeezus out of me. I'm betting it's a sinus thing, URI type bug. Antibiotics will help at least take the swelling down. Pick up some little noses and it will help her to sneeze it all out.

Krys - I'm saying lots of prayers for you. You have a lot of stress on your shoulders right now with your son and Anabelle. hugs to you. Please let me know if you need anything.

Thanks again Kira......I will be strong at the vets office tomorrow and demand no steriods. I had left over eye ointment from before that I used and I just about bet it had steriods in it....I threw it in the trash and will not use anymore of it. You are a sweetheart for caring for us.

If they do try to give you the neo-poly-dex watch her REALLLYYY carefully. You take such good care of her. She is so lucky to have found you. Just think she would not have had this kind of care in her last home. Hugs to her.

I will let you know how she is doing after the vet visit...which they are going to draw blood and test for all kinds of things and start her on rabies shots.....right now, I don't want to do all that I just want her to be better and not feel so bad.
