The folks at Animal Adoption Montreal http://www.petfinder.com/shelters/QC35.html have taken under their care a white Persian they call Q-Tip. For some reason, Q-Tip has lost one of his back feet. He is receiving medical attention at a vet hospital in Montreal where he has been given pain medication and they feel he is a good candidate for a prosthesis and rehabilitation therapy. That will cost $1500. If you can help with a donation, go to the website and you can donate through PayPal. At the website, you can see a couple of very brief videos of the poor maimed cat.

Thank you.

Here is a photo of Q-Tip. It is difficult to see that his right rear foot is missing in this shot (part of a brief video). He ended up at the SPCA, I assume, and was sent to AAM because they had no funds to help him. Thank you, Kira. Every little bit helps.

Thanks for putting this up.. hope Q-Tip can get the prothesis .. poor baby.. it hurts to watch him walk like that. He looks so much like Alaska in body (Snowman was a bigger Persian than Alaska)

Angelpuss sent $20 to help a fellow white persian in distress. I wish the tax man was kinder with these int'l donations, but oh well.

Wendy donated her allowance and part of Clarissa's too. Something about "that tortie would just blow it on catnip toys and SHE doesn't need anymore catnip. "

Barbara -- please keep us (me) updated on this. I can't get to facebook at work because it's blocked and it's almost impossible to get here because I'm on slow dial-up.

Thank you for your contributions. At the moment Maggie and the team at AAM are looking for someone with some expertise in prostheses on cats so that rehabilitation may be set in motion.

I'll keep you informed, LindaH, and post any major updates here.

UPDATE: I have been checking the facebook page of Animal Adoption Montreal for news on Q-Tip and just found this --

Quote:
We do not have enough funding to cover the costs for the specialist. He is on pain medication while we re-evaluate with other vets to decides what steps can be done to help him. Will update again in a week.

I guess there will be further news at the end of this week. Poor baby. At least he is no longer in pain.
