We seem to have some suicidal mice in our neighborhood. Last night Bill heard a thump and thought that some of the cats were in a tussle. He got up to investigate. He came back to tell me that Poppy had a mouse. He thought at first it was a toy she was playing with, but he saw the tail hanging out of her mouth. Guess who had to get out of bed to deal with a dead mouse? She was NOT a happy camper when I took it away from her.

Lola and her big orange tabby Leo used to love to catch incoming mice (coming in from some hole in wall in hub's place about 5 years back).. now I wonder who took the mouse away from either one of them (I wasn't there so ?)!

Is Poppy still sulking or keeping an eye out for new prey? I know Winston for sure would have loved to catch a mouse (great lizard catcher) and Alaska so so.. Francis sincerely doubtful tho he was a Xot).

Poppy and Boo both are hunters, but Poppy is the one who has caught the mice. She got one last winter too. She forgave me- the evening after she came demanding to be petted, not a usual occursence for her.
