My poor boy has to go in to the vet bright and early tomorrow morning for dental work. He's been diagnosed with gingivitis and will have to be put under for treatment, including tooth cleaning, possible extractions and whatever they do to treat the gingivitis. No food for him after 8 pm tonight. He's going to be so disappointed tomorrow morning when I can't feed him. :(

I hope he comes through this better than Snowy did when she had to have it done. He's a lot younger so hopefully that will help. He only eats kibble though, so I don't know how I will feed him while he's recovering. Maybe I'll have to stock up on "GERBEEEEES"...

Anyway, positive thoughts, crossed paws, etc. all requested for him tomorrow...

Debby

Lots of hugs, Debbie. You might want to ask Whole Pets for a sample of "Stella & Chewy's" food. It's dry, but it has a crumbly consistency and it should be fine for his little mouth. I have some I can run to you as well, if you need it, I crumble it over the babies' dry foods. Also, maybe some plain greek yogurt. Puffy loves that. And of course, Gerbers too :)

Hugs to your sweet man, let us know how it goes please? :flower:

 Smokey, we know you will be fine and are sending lots of good vibs.
Sparky was 14 and had her teeth taken out. We were soooo worried plus she had had diabetes and wondered if that would be a problem. I put it off for 2 years.
If you remember, she walked in after it was over and wanted her wet food.
I know every cat is different so I am sending good luck to you anyway Smokey.

Aww, this procedure always brings such stress and worry., and especially for you if Snowy didnt do well afterwards.

All positive good thoughts going out for Smokey's dental to go really smoothly. Maybe he wont even need any extractions.
I'm sure he'll do just fine, but of course you'll be greatly relieved when it's all over with, and he's 100% again. :flower: :flower: :flower:
Let us know how he does, wont you? :flower:

Paws and fingers crossed that your sweet boy will come through this just fine, I know you will be worried, we all would. Please let us know how he is doing.

As for food try putting some water in his kibble to soften it then mush it up, maybe something on top of it to entice him, like gerbeees. :D

Positive thoughts are certainly going out for dear Smokey!!
I'm sure all will be ok, Debby..
Dolly had three extractions done at a dental cleaning she had
when she was younger....I don't recall having to give her any special
soft food, she just ate her dry once her appetite came back...
But that was only 3 extractions...maybe with more, it would be better
to offer soft food or soften the dry with water...

Let us know how it all goes!

Hugs,
Joan
