Hi, I am new here. My name is Larissa. My family and I have a Blue Lynx point and white male Himalayan Persian male (reg.) and a torti point Himalayan female (reg). She went into heat a while back and we came up with her due date after seeing multiple breedings on the same day. From what we came up with, she is due this month on the 16th. Yesterday I had woke up to cat hair EVERY where. I hadn't seen this much hair since they were breeding. I also relized she was being very very vocal and almost acting like she was in heat. Upon looking at her I knew they had been breeding. I didn't know what to do, so I sat down to do some research and read that the male will force breed her if he wants and it can be dangerous in late stage preg. I went to find them and they were breeding. I got her and put her in the laundry room with food water and a bed. But now she is showing signs of being in heat, holding her hind up, getting all up about being petted around her tail. So she is acting like she is in heat. My mom now is thinking she isn't pregnant. But I am sure she is. I have felt the kittens and she has gotten pretty round etc. So why is she acting like she is in heat?

I'm thinking she could have possibly had a pseudo or "false" pregnancy. This has happened to one of my retired girls once. She showed all of the usual signs of being pregnant, but around week 7 or so of her "pregnancy", she went into a full-blown heat. Personally, if it were me, I would keep them separated because it is not totally unheard of for a female to show signs of heat late in a true pregnancy. Better safe than sorry.
