Tracy B & Ceylon,

If either of you are implying that I did not start out "the right way" or that I breed strictly for pets, you are so VERY wrong. Even though I've always known neither of you "show" breeders agree with my breeding program, I DO have goals in mind. In addition to breeding for health and personality, at the top of that list is to make each generation in my breeding program better than the last. For example, my Dex is a very handsome cat... much better than his dad, in my opinion. As I said before, health & personality are far more important than "show" quality to me. I know there are people in the show world that have genetic and health issues in their lines and/or have cats with p*ssy personalities just as some do among non-showing breeders. It happens on both sides of the fence, so please, let's not pretend otherwise. I mean what the good is a show quality cat without excellent health and a wonderful personality???? Health and personality should be at the top of every breeder's list, regardless of whether they show or not. By the way, showing is definitely not for everyone... not everyone enjoys it... and that goes for humans AND felines. FYI, one of the main reasons I choose not to show is because the show world is so full of catty, , "holier than thou" people. That's something I really don't need in my life, thank you very much. 8-)I'm certainly not implying that all show breeders are like that, but we all know they DO exsist.

Tracy:
I can't speak for Ceylon, but I know one thing: I wasn't even THINKING of you in my post. I am a pretty straight forward person, so if I WERE thinking of you or trying to IMPLY something, I would send you a private messeage and tell you so. I don't need to be sneaky about it or bother these kind people with implications. But since you have chosen to post this publicly, let me make myself clear:

What I was taking about was MYSELF- and the fact that if this woman wants to breed SHOW cats or anything even close to show cats, there is a specific route that she can take in order to achieve that goal. It is a difficult goal, but it is achievable if you do it the right way. It is not up to me to determine what "Show Quality" is, the CFA the judges at the show do that and they follow a CFA Written Standard, so if you want to play in the "Show World" there is a specific way to go about it.

You have made a lot of asumptions about me that aren't true and are frankly just as rude as you have accused me of being in the past. FYI: When I started out, I bred pet quality dollfaced Silvers and never even stepped into a showhall for 10 years. I am offended by your remarks generalizing "Show Breeders", and I want to assure this newbie that not all Show Breeders/Exhibitors are as "holier than thou" or any of the other obscene adjectives you have used in your post. I can't speak for all cats in the show halls, but I can assure you that MINE are completely healthy, with WONDERFUL unique personalities that are well known by many members here who either own pets from me or who have seen in person some of the cats I've shown. If you have a problem with me, I would ask that you PLEASE either keep it to yourself or PM me, but I am not going to moderate all of my posts to others or walk on eggs shells for fear that you misconstrue my remarks any longer.

I'm not even going to take more time out of my life for this. I never gave you Tracy a second thought when I was replying to the person who asked, and I answered. I believe now just as well as I believed in the past I've given the best advice on this topic. If anyone comes looking for guidance, I'm happy to help pave the way. I am a CFA Ambassador, a breed council member, and am involved in 3 CFA clubs. Thus, I breed to better the breed and do all I can to properly promote CFA and what I believe in. I'm proud of my program and love to lend a helping hand when I can for others. Afterall, I wouldn't be where I am today if it wasn't for all the guidance and learning that others so gracefully gave to me.

FYI, I wasn't even thinking of EITHER OF YOU when I was talking about certain show breeders. Talk about taking things personally and misinterpreting one's remarks.

I am DONE with this subject. 8-)
