That bear that was photographed falling out of the tree is now dead.

It made its way back to Boulder after being relocated and was struck by a car and killed when it wandered out onto a busy highway. Details here:

The road it got hit on is a four lane expressway (or "freeway" as we say in the west) with very heavy traffic. The poor bear didn't have a chance.

Apparently it's pretty common for bears to return after being relocated.

Oh no. Poor Boulder Bear. I am so sad to hear this.

Poor things don't have a chance on the highways.

That is sad..poor bear....
We hit one once....he ran in front of us, and got hit by
the passenger front side, on his back leg....
He limped off into the woods...but not sure if he surrived or
not
