Camie checking out Jacks plunder from the awards banquet.
A not so great photo of Camie being judged.
As I said the show was a difficult one, and for some reason this show is never a good one for us. It started off badly - and not anything to do with the show. I got to the hotel and couldn't find a parking place in the garage. I drove around for a good 15 minutes trying. Finally I went inside and complained. They told me to go ahead and park in a restricted area. I was nearly late. Another thing that bugged me is my camera is broken (sort of) I can manually focus it and take photos but it will not focus and take the picture on auto. I use the auto because it is quicker when trying to get pictures at a show.
I had another breeder tell me I should have left Camie at home since she doesn't have full coat. Yes, I wasted the money since she didn't final, but I thought it best to get her out so she stays comfortable with shows. I stopped showing her mother for a period of time and when I tried again she would have no part of it. This was Camies first overnight away from home - she didn't cope well with that. She hide behind the headboard of the bed almost the entire time. they had a full length mirror that really scared her! I had to pile up the bags in front of it.

Let's say, parts of it were fun. I enjoyed seeing my friends and showing the cats. I think I would have been happier cuddled up with the cats and take out than going to the dinner since I am NOT a party person. I do not like being the center of attention so it was agony to have to walk across that stage for the award. If Jack could have done it it would have been great! It was HIS award after all!!

Sweet little Camie will soon have plenty of ribbons on her own.

Coat or no coat, Camie, you are still a beautiful silver lady and deserve a wall of ribbons!

Beautiful Cami's face always makes me smile. Sometimes show friends can get focused on the short term result, rather than the big picture. Based on knowing your kitties & lines, you made the choice to keep Camie familiar with shows & that's a very smart decision I feel. There are so many stories on the Pandecats magazine site about beautiful kitties who didn't enjoy showing, esp after a break or a bad experience.
Congrats again on mr best-groomed Jack & you on your exciting season !!

Oh the breeder who said this is no friend. We have had our differences in the past. She delights in making others feel bad about themselves and their cats. I know this and that is why I tried not to let what she said bother me. Later, while Camie was being judged I was talking to a judge who was there as an exhibitor. I mentioned that maybe I should have left Camie home. She told me that I did the right thing to bring her.
I have had at least 4 cats get tired of showing. Several showed great promise and it broke my heart to stop showing them, but I will not make them unhappy for my own satisfaction. Besides if they are unhappy being there they don't show well.
Thank you for liking my little girl. she is very special to me.

I can never understand why some people are like this? What satisfaction do they get by being so nasty? Don't they realize that this is not the way to make friends or gain respect?
I'm glad you don't let this person get under your skin, Lynda..

Camie is beautiful!
It does sound like a bit of an 'icky feeling' type of show... but once in a while you get those.
Why are you embarrassed to be in the spot light...? and it's not just Jack's prize - you cared for him and made him look the way he does!
