Thanks everyone, Alon, I don't like being the center of attention. I was the kid in school who would take a failing grade rather than do an oral book report. Even as an adult I don't like it - when we got married we only had immediate family there because I didn't want a crowd. I am a no fuss, no frills kind of gal! ;)

Hmmmm.... I wonder why it's like that.

Nothing wrong of course in being modest, or simply shy and not liking the crowds. I just feel that if someone wins something fair and square (which you did), they should claim it with pride and be properly applaud.

Anyway, I am happy you achieved your goal with Jack - and that you managed with the spotlight for just a little while :-)

I just decided to look at this part of the forum like I do very occasionally since I know nothing about breeding nor have had a "show quality" cat or dog however I do have to say this ~ Your Camie is so lovely! Every time you post photos of her and Jack I'm just floored at how stunning they are! I can completely understand your reasoning about bringing her to sort of "condition" her if you will or having her be accustomed to the experience vs. put off by it.

The thing about not wanting to be the center or attention I also get so I imagine much of this has to be a great effort for you. All I can say is congratulations on what you do and your cats will show will speak for themselves.

I'm sure there is a whole psychology to the shows as well so I imagine if you're wise to that and you do what you think is right you'll be on top of your game and your kitties no matter what is said.

You have STUNNING cats!!!!

Thank you for your sweet compliments on Camie and Jack. I am a little prejudiced, but I think they are beautiful. Camie hopefully will get her grand champion title, but that is as far as she will go, I believe, no regional titles for her and that is okay.
I guess my showing is sort of a contradiction. I hate the lime light but I am very competitive, but that isn't the main reason I show. I like showing because I get to talk to others about my cats, one on one when we are at a show. As for taking Camie when she was out of coat - I will continue to do what I feel is best for my cats - I know them better than anyone else. If I wanted to have major coat on her in the summer, I could keep her caged (NOT going to happen!) and in a temperature/light controlled environment. She is first my pet and secondly a show cat.
