He's resting comfortably in the kitchen as I type. I offered some Gerbeeees to him but he didn't want any. They said he can eat his regular kibble right away but not to give him too much the first night, only about one quarter to one half of normal. He could puke when the anesthesia wears off. He's still a little under the influence I guess.

The pain to me came to $852. Not quite as bad as I had feared. It sounds like he will probably lose all of his remaining teeth in another year or two though. :(

They sent me home with antibiotics and pain meds for him. He's much more cooperative with things than Snowy, so I should be able to administer the meds myself. I had to take Snowy to the clinic for hers. It remains to be seen how difficult it will be to get him eating again. That was a big problem for Snowy.

Glad he is home ok, hope he starts eating soon. That is my concern for Lani, she is already not eating much. :(

Hugs to the baby. I find pain meds/antib's pretty easy to give with a syringe. Set the cat on the counter, facing away from you, hold their head with your left hand, weasel in the syringe with your right hand, and squirt. Hopefully he'll feel better once the anesthesia wears off. Hugs to your poor boy

So good to hear Smokey is home and resting
comfortably!
I'm sure he will be eating once the anestheia wears off.

Dolly doesnt have many teeth left...she had three extracted
years ago, others must have fallen out...everytime the vets
look in her mouth, they say she doesn't have many teeth...so
I can only assume they have fallen..
She is not one you can hold her mouth open for long periods
to have a look, and she still has those big ones up and down..(the
better to bite you with my dear  )

Give Smokey a hug from me!

Purrs,
Joan

I'm glad he's home and with you! (((HUGS))) to Smokey!

When Dante, a known chow-hound, had several teeth pulled, he didn't eat anything that night. Between the stress, the anesthetic, and the sore mouth, it's enough to dampen most cat's appetites. And if Smokey is still drowsy, I might not leave kibble out for him at all over night.
