I have cleaned all the cat beds for the Family and treated them for fleas. I also treated all members of the D family. Duncan was easy and never stopped purring, Demetrius was difficult and never stopped wriggling.
Now people say my cats do not have fleas and that is because I do the treatments.

I haven't had a single flea since we moved to the new house. That was over 6 years ago. Now I hope I haven't jinxed myself.

My persians never, ever had fleas.
Guess we were lucky. The only one I treated was Dolly, and that was just for our trips to Florida in case some of the pet friendly hotel rooms had a flea or two roaming around..

Living a block from the beach and having a dog and carpet for some time my cats didn't have fleas as long as I kept the treatments up. Lola was a bit more tricky because while the flea medicine was supposed to last 4 weeks it seemed to not at times.

I now live a little more than a mile from the beach, have tile floor thru out my home and haven't had a problem with fleas at all here however I do keep up with treatments on Lola regularly and have treated Alaska once in the last year because my husband brought his big orange guy over, Leo, and he's not good about treating Leo for fleas and does let him outside (while he's watching and following him). I usually have to be the "flea treatment" person for Leo. He's so big he doesn't seem to itch and scratch but when he has had them I noticed them on his underbelly.

Never had a pet with fleas. Could be our extra dry, long, and cold winters.

I never had fleas either until this past fall when my sister and I rescued Mister the brown tabby persian...he had fleas and we bathed and combed him out at my house...I washed everything and was surprised when one day soon after Alice was digging at her back...I looked and found a flea on my baby...YUK! had to treat her and the dogs...

in Blues 12 plus years I have only found one flea on her, and it was in distress trying to get thru her cotton fur. I almost had heart failure, use some flea meds, not good , she cannot tolerate them... so until last year, even without flea preps she has never had another one. Last year was a bad year, I decided to try the Serestro collars that are out and last for 8 mo. I had Dr K put one on Bluie and MaMa,,, they work fantastic, do not cause any side effects, which I watched for in Bluie,, MaMa's I left on for the full 8 mo , and she was outside in her cattery pen and never got a bug on her. I put Blues on because we go to the cottage and we let her on the screened in porch and lots of tics there. No, problems. I did take her's off after we were not going to the cottage again.. :paw:
