Both Jasper and Jacob have launched themselves from our second story landing and jumped to the first floor :o
Luis and his mom saw Jasper...said it resembled something like this

Image

He hasn't tried it since...

A couple days later, while we were watching tv, I saw Jacob very intent on squeezing through the bars and jumping
so I got up and had my hands stretched out saying "NO JACOB...NO" and Luis ran for the stairs...Cami heard us and came from her room to get him.
So, I grabbed the privacy screen we made for the litter box and put it in front of the rail.
I figured that was it.
NOPE....Jacob took flight Saturday afternoon :roll:...I only saw him once he had landed and he ran straight under the table just like Jasper did.

Good thing is I think it was a "one time was good enough just to see how it feels" kind of thing

They need to try it once I think. I can picture it Karen,
you'll need to get them kitty parachutes.

That is hilarious to picture...the cats hellbent on diving from
The second floor lol. I never had that issue but I did have an open foyer in my Virginia house where there was a railing to look down from the living room and muffins loved to weave in between the railing bars and walk along the inner part there where I thought she could easily slip and fall...and it was a long way down!!! I sprayed that bitter all around it so she would not want to do it anymore...forget if that helped
Or not though.

When I lived in Raleigh NC, we had a townhouse with a loft. My kitty (Rowdy) liked to sit up there.

He fell off one time and landed on a table. He was okay, just sore, but it didn't stop him. In this picture he was sitting on top of the boards that was my bookshelf but after that was no longer there, he would sit on the railing.

They do seem to be getting into more of their fair share of trouble over here. But, especially with Jacob, I am shocked that he actually jumped...he is such a mellow yellow kind of guy! We all know Jasper is the feline Evil Keneval so I am going to look into that bitter spray ...as smart as they are they are equally impulsive and I don't want it happening again.

We have the cat tree that we built in the garage because we have no place for it...I was going to put it by the landing but figured they would leap on it and fall overboard...didn't imagine they would just jump for no reason.

They do like to do the weaving in and out thing too...I guess they just like to keep me on pins and needles :roll:At least Her Highness doesn't dable in the daredevil antics!
