I want to get a new cat. I am considering a Persian, but I was wondering if there were other suggestions for exotic looking cats. I want the most majestic, unique, and beautiful cat I can find. Throw some breed suggestions at me!

Well... why do you want a new cat? For companionship? Just because? Persians are a LOT of work. They are very gorgeous but take a lot of time and are predisposed to quite a few health problems, so you need to know what you will be taking on.

Siamese are very vocal if you like that. Ragdolls are very sweet like persians, but require a bit less grooming. I have personally heard that Cornish Rex breed is very sweet. But it sounds like you are just concerned about the asthetics?

lol well considering this is a persian cat forum...I'm gonna go ahead and say perzians are the best.

There are LOTS of cat breeds...the best thing to do would use the google and read up on different breeds. Or maybe go to a cat show. If you want to know more about perzians...this is the place to be.

Probably a kitty that you rescue from a shelter, who will love you and appreciate that all his/her life... and ALL cats are beautiful and wonderful to live with!!

You should spend some time reading up on cats, the breeds and personalities. Persians are beautiful and generally have very sweet, mellow personalities however are more high maintenance re healthcare issues and esp. grooming. If you don't want to either learn to bathe and/or groom your own cat which can be quite challenging you probably would like a regal shorthair type of cat. If you don't mind bathing or think you won't (time consuming as well as challenging for some like me) or you don't minds spending $60-$100 pop for bath, comb out, cut, shave and such then you could consider a Persian.

As mentioned tho I would try to rescue a cat .. check out some of the places you can rescue from. I bet you'll fall in love with some "majestic to you" kitty.

Keep in mind with all cats there are considerations so be sure you want the responsibility and a forever companion. If you want a pet that you can train... get a dog.

Persians are gorgeus regal cats, but do take a lot of work.
regal can mean many things, Tonkinese are regal, like in Egypt days, some of the new breeds, Bengal, etc. many many regal kitties. first decide the type of personality you would like then go from there.. remember you not only want a cat to be regal but one you can be close to...

So not to be rude...but you want something that someone would say "OMG, what a beautiful cat! Where did you get it?"
