I am seeing ads for Cat Genie (think of that Diaper Genie that was popular when my son was born...hahahaha on the name) and then the Robo Cat Litter Box?

I wonder if someday that the old standard plastic litter box will become obsolete :?:? Do you have any of these new technology cat boxes?

I wonder if they are expensive....they sure sound tempting to get. Wonder if they take any kind of litter?
I remember one that came out initially and it was like an automatic litter thing. I didn't get that because I was afraid that the persian would play with it when it moved :?. Hahhahahahahah Or the bushy tail would get caught . I picture all sorts of things but apparently these things are working for some or it wouldn't be on the market.

I've seen some fancy litter boxes but I am sticking with the old plastic boxes. I also thought if anything is electric or automatic, I would worry too much with my cats getting hurt or scared of it.

I certainly hope not or I will have to get real creative. :?My girls are very good about the litter box and I am making no changes. :!:I think those fancy boxes would scare the heck out of them, geez everything scares the heck out of them. I won't even get a covered one or change litter. When it comes to cats and their litter boxes why mess with it if it works :?I have had cats that wanted to go every place but the box and I say Thank You Lord every day ;)

I hope that open plastic litter boxes do not become obsolete ... Tosca does very well with them and I know they're safe and do the job well.

I bought that Cat Genie thing and it IS exactly the same as the Diaper Genie. You still have to scoop a litter box; it just goes inside the bag and is twisted. I found it difficult to turn after a few times and I wasted the bag. It now just sits in the bathroom and collects dust.

Give me the good old plastic retangular litter box any day.
Easy to clean, easy to scoop, and doesn't freak Dolly out
with any noises

Purrs,
Joan

same here Joan, Bluie likes her old long plastic tray, I would hate to think if I got her anything different. I would have more than hairballs on the floor.

I would love to have the one that connects to the water line in the bathroom. It uses a permanent littler, and you just push a button, it washes the litter and flushes the pee/poop.

BUT I still have no problem with my ol plastic pan. It does have a lid though. Houdini pees on the wall.. EW

I had an automatic litter box and it was OK, but it seemed that it leaked. Might want to put a plastic sheet under it.

I currently use a small kiddie swimming pool as a litter box. I know, sounds funny. But I thought the usual litter box was too too small. I wouldn't want to use it.

This kiddy swimming pool is the greatest thing. There is so much room to roam around for kitty to do her business. She can't miss or have the rear hanging over the edge; how could she? It's so big.

Needs a little more litter of course, but once you fill it with two or three scoopable litter jugs, you just refill it as you would any other box.
