I went to Petsmart this weekend and their small cans of Authority (which is a better quality food really than the Friskies, etc etc brands) was on clearance for 27 cents a can (3 oz cans). I bought all 49.
Ingredients: Chicken, Chicken Broth, Chicken Liver, Oean Fish, Brewers Rice, Dried Egg Product, Guar Gum, Potassium Chloride, Salt, Brewers Dried Yeast, Vitamins (Vitamin E, A, D3, B12 Supplements, Thiamine, Mononitrate, Niacin, D-Calcium Pantothenate, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride, Riboflavin Supplement, (Folic Acid, Biotin), Minerals (Ferrous Sulfate, Zinc Oxide, Copper Proteinate, Manganous Sulfate, Potassium Iodide, Sodium Selenite), Choline Chloride, Taurine
It contains no by-products also. The larger cans (5.5 or 6 oz .. can't remember) are currently 85 cents a can, which would make it 42 cents for the 3 oz portion. If Fancy Feast is in 3 oz cans, wouldn't that save about 20 cents per 3 oz serving?
I feed a combination of Authority and Innova mainly and will sometimes pick up a few cans from other brands here and there for interest, since my cat doesn't really prefer pate and that's what most of the mid-higher end cat foods seem to be going to unless you buy the really expensive (and small can) varieties that I just can't afford. I'm still going through large cans of Authority that were clearanced at 57 cents a can (they were getting rid of that particular flavor). Pretty much every week, I snoop the end caps at Petsmart to see if anything else has been put on clearance that I might want!
