I am totally amazed in the change of Talia since getting her shaved. You guys probably already know this....she has become a different cat. I am assuming it is because she does not hurt anymore when she moves. She jumps up on the bed and lays with me....Even lays at the end of the bed and watchs tv. I went from a cat that hid all the time and ran away from me to one that is a snuggle bug.....my only problem is: I think she gets cold without her fur to keep her warm....tried putting a sweater on her but she took it off....is it ok to putting a heating pad under her blanket to help keep her warm or would you fill a water bottle with warm water and lay it next to her....I worry about the heating pad burning her....

if you are using a human heating pad make sure it is on low and you have a blanket over it, if you use a hot water bottle also put a towel or blanket over it. I am so glad she is doing better.

I'm so glad to hear this news! I have a pad for Sasha that reacts to body heat. When she lies on it, it activates the heat core. No electricity, just thermal. I bought mine on line, but I believe that petco and petsmart may carry them.

That is great, I would be worried about an electric heating pad if they bite or claw it. The one Tomi mentioned sounds great, or a hot water bottle, either with a towel over it.

Oh I can't wait till it gets warmer and I can shave Petunia. I wonder if she will react the same way.

Maggie has been on a heating pad at night and during the day since mid-November and has shown no interest in chewing on it. I have it on low with a towel over it and she loves it.

I'm glad Talia has become such a friend to you. I think we humans underestimate how uncomfortable mats can be. Think of your hair being pulled 24/7 and then having these lumps to lay on. Not fun!
