Groucho's Marks certainly does have interesting markings. I find it interesting that on all the petfinder ads it states no dogs or kids under 7. Some of these babies might miss a good home if they won't adopt to a home with a dog or kids.

A number of the Persian rescues are leary of adopting a Persian to a family with a dog. There are two reasons -- 1) bad experiences with dog/persian households where the Persian is harassed/bitten by the dog. 2) Many dog owners have doggie doors where a Persian could escape outside, which would not be good. I understand their concerns, but I don't like the blanket policies because it does eliminate good, honest people who probably would care for the animal, while those people that would lie on the application form would be accepted and may be less reliable.

Sassypants' owner didn't have "time" for her. I'd like to have ten minutes with that owner.

I've had dogs and kids both with all my kitties and all were loved equally. Sometimes the furries more than the skin ;)

OMG.. how adorable!! I have 2 senior persian cats and a miniature shnauzer female dog, Lola, who while she can be a pain in the butt to me is quite respectable to my 2 senior cats. The truth is the cats rule the household and Lola has to deal with it!!!! My dog likes cats and would probably chase a kitten but it doesn't take much to put Lola in her place!!!! I really wish unless the kitten or cat has a hard time with dogs that a dog in the home isn't necessarily a reason for adoption places to deny adoptions. Lola is only 20lbs and she is afraid of Alaska (my white 16y.o. 6 lb cat) and coexists quite well with Winston who is 15y.o. and she's best buddies with domestic orange tabby Leo who is 9 y.o.!!!!! I agree that Sassypants might miss out on a good home if too many animal/human variables might be ruled out!

Seriously! It drives me insane that people just don't think about the commitment when they get a pet. Too much trouble to brush? Take him to a shelter! They barfed on the carpet? Toss them outside. As Judy says: eesssshhhhh.

I'm going to sit under Judy's rock until I calm down............ :(
