hi all, and thanks for making me feel so welcome, and for all the great tips and info. Special thanks to Linda (Fultonblue) for all her kind and expert advice

Well, I was contemplating a 4th cat, and found one on CL last month--a young blue & white female Persian, but the owner was very sketchy on her vet history, and after our last 2 'rescues' on CL, I gave up on her--the owner was unresponsive to my request for her to contact my vet with her history and I never heard from her again...oh, well. Now, I contacted the previous owner of our white Persian girl because originally she was to come to us with her sister, but the owner decided to give me only one--which initially was okay because, again, I had to pull teeth to get her vet history and it turned out that she hadn't been vetted for 5 years so she needed a complete work up and needed to be treated for both eye and ear infections and get all shots, testing, dewormed, and have a dental done--not to mention 2 trips to the groomer! But, anyway, she is very quiet and reserved and will play with toys, enjoys congregating with our boy cats when I get the laser out, but for the most part, she stays to herself...I am unable to learn if this is just her normal baseline behavior--that she just likes her own space, or if she is just pensive and slow in making an attachment with my boys, or if she is upset at being separated from her sister. I have talked to quite a few people about my concerns, and get very contrasting opinions. Angel is 5 1/2 years old, and my boys are almost 13 and 3, and we also have 2 dogs. I guess that maybe I am being overly sensitive to Angel's emotional health, or maybe that is just her personality and I'm reading too much into it. Well, I did happen to find another cat--what appears to be a seal point himmie or possibley a himmie/siamese cross--female, 8 years old, spayed & declawed; the owner needs to rehome her but she says that her cat is very chatty and also that she likes to chew on plastic bags & wrappers, and that she has a history of UTI from stress. I would consider taking her, but I'm not so sure about dealing with these lilttle quirks, and again, I'm not so sure that our cats would accept another new arrival. I would really appreciate your input, because you are all so knowledgeable and helpful. I'm sorry for rambling. Thanks again for listening
